So since she is my little sister, I asked to do her Senior Portraits. It was such an honor. I am in disbelief that she is graduating...anyone else out there have a younger sibling and still see them as 12?? That's me totally. I forget all the time how grown up she really is. These pictures really show it, too!!

I hope you enjoy these as much as I did taking them. It was a lot of fun for me and a fun way for me to be apart in her graduation!

Matt's Mom, Peggy, contacted me earlier this year wanting me to do Matt's Senior Pictures - and I of course couldn't turn her down! It was such a great time getting to know Matt and learning about where he's going for college and what his passions are.

I met them through my parents at their church. Right away, whenever they all gathered together, I knew that it was going to be an awesome time, as this family is really beautiful. And I'm not just talking about outer beauty (as they are all very beautiful in that way as well) but the beauty that radiates from their hearts is just so encouraging and..well...beautiful. :)

I had never photographed this many people for a family portrait before and it was SO much fun! I hope that you enjoy these pictures just as much as I enjoyed taking them.

If you have been watching the news, then you would know that a lot of places have been hit with massive amounts of snow in the past few days - Dallas was one of them! It was SO much fun yesterday playing in the snow. This is a luxury that I never had growing up in Houston. You NEVER have snow and if you do it never sticks - especially this much!

Traveling to work was surreal, as everything looked like a postcard. Snow fell hard all night on Wednesday, all day yesterday and into the night tonight. It is crazy how the snow is still outside on our lawn! It's beautiful! :) I love it.

So as I mentioned before, it was my first time to make a snowman. Here he is:

His eyes, nose, smile and buttons are made out of cough drops! ha! That's all we had! :) We got creative. My husband and I did it together. I don't know if he's still alive in our front yard, but it was SO much fun making him! :)

During this trip, I hope to unveil a new side on my photography. I have tons of ideas of what it might be like – I even had a dream about the place we’re going to last night!

I’m unsure how often I will post pictures, but I hope to do so as often as I can. We plan on leaving March 1^st and will return June 1^st.

So for all of you who were wanting pictures during the months of March to June 1^st, I’m so sorry, but I won’t be here. I can, however, do a shoot afterwards! :)

I hope that you will continue to follow me on this blog as I see new things and my eyes are opened to a world other than America. It’s going to be interesting!

Like the game of Horseshoes.

I don't know about you, but whenever I was a kid, I hated playing this game. I thought it was the most boring game on the planet. I now have a different opinion! :)

When we went on our trip this past June (in 2009) to Arizona for a couple of weeks, when we were staying at a 'retreat' like center, they had a horseshoe game set up and people would go and play during our breaks. Often times, Josh and I would play against each other. I rarely won, but WOW, it was so much fun! I really enjoyed it.

So when even though you might not think you like a game, try it again. You never know if you will look at it differently or change your mind!

One game in particular that we got for Christmas was called, "Killer Bunnies." 

It's not your typical game. There are tons of rules upfront, but once you get them down it is SO much fun. Some friends introduced us to the game last year and we loved it so much that we decided to ask to receive it for Christmas.  

And then we got my mom hooked! :) 

So, I think everytime we go now, we will be play Killer Bunnies together. It's just too fun NOT to play!! 

So, if you are ever in the mood to splurge and just get a great game, get this one! It is loads of fun! :)

Shannon is an inspirational speaker and travels all around speaking about different topics. I actually haven't heard her speak, but I know that she has a huge passion for people living free in Jesus and being released from hurts, habits and hang ups. Since she is releasing a new book soon (CONGRATS SHANNON!) she asked me to do some new headshots of her to put on the back cover. How exciting! I can't wait to read the book.

After we did some of her headshots, we had the family come together for a few pictures. It was such a joy to hang out with them. I really love being a part of Josh's family.

Another thing about Rene is that she is an A-MAZING pianist and musician. She plays the violin and sings, as well. She is extremely talented. She recently finished studying at a school to learn how to record in a studio (I'm unsure the techincal term - a studio engineer maybe?). We decided to trade services - she recorded some of my music for taking pictures of her in the studio.

Honestly, for me this was a dream come true. I have been writing music ever since I got my guitar 8 years ago and have always been eager to jump in the studio to record. We were able to get one song recorded fully and another partially finished. I was SO excited. I can't tell you how many times I either began crying in the studio or was so filled with joy I couldn't stop smiling. Rene totally made a dream of mine come true. THANK YOU friend! :)

These pictures are my end of the deal - which it was so much fun! The best deal I've ever made with someone by far! :)

So, just to put a plug in for my friend - if you ever need any recording done, or someone to play for your wedding, she is your gal.

So today is our third Anniversary as Mr. and Mrs. Truckey!! I can't believe it. 

Three years passed by so quickly. It makes me wonder how fast the rest of the time will fly.

Josh and I technically have been together for 8 years, as we dated all through high school and through college. We have definitely had our hard times already, and I'm sure there are more to come. I'm sure there are many more happy times, too.

All I do know, is that I would never want to do life with any other person, other than my husband, Josh. He is the most wonderful man I have ever met. He always inspires me to love God more and to love others more, too. His attitude and humor makes me smile every time. His little quirks drive me crazy, but, I still love him so much and would never want anyone different.

I love you hun hun (aka Josh)! :)
