Playing with Fire

Last night it was cold enough outside for us Houstonians to build a fire and I enjoyed every minute of it. I love fires (in the right context, of course!) andI could sit by them all day long and be happy, which I practically did yesterday! :)

I had the idea of taking photos of the fire on a slow shutter speed on my tripod and this is what came of it! The exif data is below the photo.

All I did was place my camera on a tripod near the fire, created more depth of field by closing my aperture, placed my ISO on 320 and set my shutter speed for 6 seconds. 6 seconds sounds long, but it worked well.

Taking pictures of movement is fun for me and you should try it too! I challenge you to take a photo this week that involves movement of some sort. It could be water, someone walking or moving, fire, etc. Let me know how it turns out in the comments below!
