Tea & Thoughts on Reentry

I feel silly now that I didn't take more advantage of what this market had to offer, but what can I do now? This market had so many types of tea that I was in tea heaven looking at it all. I have so many kinds of tea already that I didn't buy a single one. I guess I was practicing self control and being content. :) It is probably for the better, but I did taste some of these teas and they were exquisite.

It's Tuesday...and now 10 days before I head back to the State's for a short visit. Joshua and I have been thinking about what it will be like reentering our home culture. I have so many thoughts on this--it would probably fill up this entire blog!

One piece of advice that I received once about this, was when you reenter, don't think of your home country as a place that you are an expert on. Now that you have lived in another place and you have adapted to their customs, you are not the same and neither is your home country. Rather, view your home country as a new country that you are visiting for the first time. This will reduce the amount of stress that is placed on you when things aren't what you expected. As well, it kind of removes expectations. I don't think it'll remove all of them, but perhaps it'll take away enough to reduce the amount of stress that you could experience.

Not sure if this is good advice, but it is something I'm going to try. I was about to type more about reentering your home culture, but I realized that I could do this all day, so I'll spare you...until tomorrow. :)

Thanks for reading. If you have any thoughts on reentering your home culture after a period of time, would love to hear about them! Leave a comment below!
