Yes, I said it - PALEO Cereal. Is there such a thing that could actually taste good??

And just a side note to help my readers, if you were like me about 6 months ago, you are probably scratching your head at the name of "Paleo." What is Paleo? 

Well, the simple definition from lovely Wikipedia, is, "Paleolithic [Paleo for short] diet consists mainly of meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, roots, and nuts; and excludes grains, legumes, dairy products, salt, refined sugar, and processed oils."

So I eat a lot of what it just says up there. We don't always follow the Paleo diet exact, as some things, like potatoes, legumes, corn, etc. are sometimes unavoidable and we are sometimes in situations where we just eat whatever is offered. That is the beauty of living in community, dontcha know! :)

So back to the real meaning of this post -- just yesterday, we followed a recipe that was so yummy. So yummy I ate the exact thing again this morning -- and I probably will eat it tomorrow morning too. It consists of the following:

Frozen blueberries - 1/2 cup

Strawberries OR Apples - 1/2 cup of Strawberries or 1/2 of an Apple

Banana - 1/2 of one

Pecans - 1/4 cup

Walnuts - 1/4 cup

Macadamia Nuts - Sprinkle ontop

Flax Seed - 2 Tbsp

Almond Milk - however much you want. (NOTE: We chose to get Vanilla Almond Milk. It is quite tasty this way - you can get just regular Almond Milk and I'm sure it would taste good, too)

So after you combine it all together, minus the Almond Milk - VOILA! This is how it turns out:

So good. So good. SO GOOD! I can't reiterate how good this was. 

Oh, and if I haven't mentioned, I'm a cereal LOVER. This is one thing I have missed terribly ever since we've stopped eating grains. So, to say the least. I'm hooked on this cereal.

Also, since this cereal doesn't have much protein in it, we ate some turkey bacon on the side.

CAUTION - it can get a little expensive, especially on the macadamia nuts. SO, if I were you, I would watch for sales, or not buy as much on the macadamia nuts. As well, I've noticed that you could even use less in your cereal because it is a big portion. But, since I am a cereal lover, I don't mind paying a wee-bit more. :)
